Arctic TernArctic Tern (Sterna paradisea).

RANGE: breeds in the northern moderate and arctic zones.

Outside the breeding season, this bird flies to the south, often whole the way to high southern latitudes. Some individuals almost fly from pole to pole!

Common KittiwakeCommon Kittiwake (Rissa tridactyla), a medium-sized Gull.

RANGE: breeds on cliffs of moderate zones of the northern hemispere.

The Kittiwake is one of the few "purely" maritime Gulls, only coming on land for breeding, "land" virtually always being ledges of cliffs.

This photo was taken on Grimsey Island, Iceland but in summer holidays I saw this bird on numerous other islands with cliffs!
